Monster Island was The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster and it was released just in time for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monster Island, a fictional island on which a monster lives, is the story.


Asylum has the budget for a large kid's dinner and uses it well. It focuses on a few characters and keeps (first article) its big stars in one set, where they can record all sequences during lunch. The Asylum could be a good fit for this kaiju type.
